The plastic Breyer cutting calf looks pretty tacky with your beautiful performance horse. I have taken that calf and made it into a Brahma crossbred with a far more realistic look. No two of these calves are ever the same (like the real ones!). The logo and seams are removed and then I add dewlap and underline, a slight hump at the shoulder and some beefing up at the topline. The ears and tail are removed and resculpted (tail reinforced with wire) with the larger Brahma type ear and the tail in various positions rather than plastered to the side of the model. All of the models are painted with acrylics and sealed with a satin sealer and a final layer of Dull Cote. Eyes and nose are glossed. Some are painted with a slight "dirty" look for realism and some are pretty much pristine!
